Day 1

Home – Chengdu – Train Station

Arriving at Chengdu Tianfu International Airport. The Four Leader will meet you and accompany you to Chengdu Railway Station, where you will board the Qinghai-Tibet train to begin your journey to Tibet.

Day 2

Qinghai – Tibet Railway

Continue your journey on the Qinghai-Tibet train.

Day 3

Xining – Lhasa 

In the morning, you will arrive at Lhasa Railway Station, where a local Tibetan guide and driver will be waiting to meet you. After checking into your hotel, you can rest and relax. The afternoon is free for you to acclimate to the altitude at your own pace.

*Warm reminder: Lhasa is at an altitude of 3658 meters, with oxygen levels at only 65% of sea level. Most guests may experience varying degree of altitude sickness. To prevent altitude sickness, maintain a calm attitude, avoid strenuous activities, drink plenty of warm water, eat fruits and get sufficient rest. It is also advisable to avoid alcohol and smoking and refrain from taking a shower that evening.

Day 4

Lhasa 

After breakfast, visit the iconic Potala Palace, a 7th-century World Heritage site that once served as the winter residence of the Dalai Lamas.

In the afternoon, explore Jokhang Temple, the center of Tibetan Buddhism. Built in the 7th century, this temple houses a statue of the 12-year-old Buddha Shakyamuni, considered one of the most sacred images for Buddhists.

Next, head to Barkhor Street, a famous pilgrimage route around Jokhang Temple that attracts many devotees. The street is lines with shops and stalls, offering you the chance to freely explore ad experience the rich faith and cultural atmosphere of this holy city.

Day 5

Lhasa – Yamdrok Lake – Karola Glacier – Jiangzi County – Shigatse

After breakfast, depart from Lhasa and drive over the Kamba La Pass, enjoying the magnificent mountain scenery along the way.

Visit Yamdrok Lake, one of the sacred lakes in Tibet, to admire its stunning blue waters and the surrounding snow-capped mountains and grasslands.

Continue to Jiangzi County and view Palkhor Monastery from a distance, learning about the historical and cultural significance of this ancient temple.

Overnight in Shigatse Hotel.

Day 6

Shigatse – Gyawula Pass – Rongbuk Monastery – Everest Base Camp – Zhashizong

After breakfast, drive towards Everest and visit Rongbuk Monastery at 4980 meters, the highest monastery in the world, where both monks and nuns reside. It provides excellent Everest views.

*Warm reminder: Vehicle access to Everest Base Camp is restricted, and visitors stay at Rongbuk Monastery, which offers great views of Everest. The drive is long and high-altitude, please take precautions against sun exposure and altitude sickness.

Overnight in Zhashizong Hotel.

Day 7

Zhashizong – Gyawula Pass Viewpoint – Shigatse

After breakfast, depart from Zhashizong and drive to the Gyawula Pass viewpoint.

Here, you can enjoy stunning views of Mount Everest and the surrounding mountainous landscape. The Gyamula Pass offers a unique vantage point to appreciate the grandeur of the world’s highest peak.

Return to Shigatse, where you can continue to admire the natural scenery and cultural features of Tibet along the way.

Day 8

Shigatse – Tashilhunpo Monastery – Lhasa

After breakfast, depart from Shigatse and head to Tashilhunpo Monastery.

Tashilhunpo Monastery is an important Gelugpa (Yellow Hat) school monastery and the traditional seat of the Panchen Lama. Visit the main buildings of the monastery, including the grand hall and the Panchen Lama’s stupa, and learn about its history and religious significance.

Day 9

Lhasa – Namtso Lake – Lhasa

After breakfast, depart from Lhasa and head to Namtso Lake, situated at the foot of the Nyenchen Tanglha Mountains.

Namtso Lake is the largest lake in Tibet and an important sacred site in Tibetan belief, with clear waters and stunning surrounding mountains.

Enjoy free time by the lake, where you can take in the beautiful scenery, capture photos of the lake, and experience the tranquility and grandeur of this sacred place.

Overnight in Lhasa Hotel.

Day 10

Lhasa – Chengdu – Home

Conclude your journey and return to the warmth of home.
