Day 1
Home – Chengdu
Arrives at Chengdu Tianfu International Airport. tour leader will meet you and arrange transfer to the hotel. As this is the arrival day, no activities are scheduled, take this time to rest +, unpack, or get ready for the exciting journey ahead.
**Note: Only one group airport transfer is included. If you miss the scheduled transfer, please make your own way to the hotel to meet the tour leader.
Day 2
Chengdu – Xining – Lhasa (B/L/D)
After breakfast, visit Wenshu Monastery and Wenshufang to enjoy a taste f traditional Chengdu charm. After lunch, explore the historic Wide and Narrow Alleys.
In the evening, transfer to the train station and board the Qinghai – Tibet Railway overnight train to Lhasa (via Xining).

Day 3
Xining – Lhasa
Board the Qinghai – Tibet Railway towards Lhasa. There will be a transfer of train carriage at Xining (same platform), after which the journey continues toward Lhasa.
Enjoy tunning vies of the Tibetan Plateau, including grasslands, lakes, and snowy mountain along the way.
Meals on board are at your own expense.

Day 4
Lhasa (L/D)
Arrives at Lhasa in the morning. Our local Tibetan guide and driver will meet us at the train station and transfer to the hotel. The afternoon is free to rest and acclimatize to the high altitude.
In the evening, enjoy a special Tibetan traditional costume experience, where you can dress up and take photos in authentic local attire.

**Altitude reminder: Lhasa sits at 3658m above sea level, with only about 63% of sea-level oxygen. Mild altitude symptoms are common. Please rest well, avoid strenuous activity or alcohol, drink warm water, and avoid bathing on the first night.

Day 5
Lhasa (B/L/D)
After breakfast, visit the iconic Potala Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage site and former winter residence of the Dalai Lama. Originally built in the 7th century by King Songtsen Gampo, the palace stands majestically over Lhasa, symbolizing the heart of Tibetan culture and history.
After lunch, visit the sacred Jokhang Temple, the spiritual center of Tibetan Buddhism. Build in the 7th century, it houses the most revered statue of Shakyamuni Buddha at age twelve, a sacred image believed to bring liberation to all who see it.

Day 6
Lhasa – Norbulingka – Sera Monastery – Barkhor Street – Lhasa 30km (B/L/D)
After breakfast, visit Norbulingka, the former summer palace of the Dalai Lamas. This beautiful garden complex blends traditional Tibetan architecture with serene natural surroundings, often called the “Summer Palace of Tibet”.
After lunch, explore Sera Monastery, one of the three great monasteries of Lhasa, famous for its unique tradition of Buddhist debate. The energy and discipline of this daily ritual make it a fascinating cultural experience.
Then walk along the Barkhor Street, the Kora path around Jokhang Temple, where pilgrims from all over Tibet prostrate and pray. Wander freely among market stalls and shops, or stop by a teahouse to enjoy a cup of sweet Tibetan tea.

Day 7
Lhasa – Yamdrok lake – Langkazi – Gyantse – Shigatse 266km (B/L/D)
After breakfast, travel along the airport expressway to Qushui County and cross the Yarlung Tsangpo River Bridge. Ascend the winding mountain road to reach Kambala Pass (Elevation 4990m, where you’ll enjoy a panoramic view of Yamdrok Lake, one of the Tibet’s three sacred lakes, its turquoise waters shimmering against the mountain backdrop.
You’ll also get a distant view of the majestic Karola Glacier en route.

**Important: Travel permits for Everest Base Camp will be arranged today or the following morning. Please be prepared to assist with on-site procedures.

Day 8
Shigatse – Mt. Everest (Rongbuk Monastery) – Tashizong 330km (B/L/D)
After breakfast, journey to the majestic region of Mount Everest, with the day’s highlight being a visit to Rongbuk Monastery, the world’s highest monastery at 4,980m elevation.
Built in 1899, Rongbuk is a significant Nyingma sect temple where both monks and nuns reside. Set against the dramatic backdrop of Mt. Everest, it offers unparalleled views of the world’s tallest peak, just 20km away. If weather permits, you’ll witness the breathtaking sight of Everest rising into the sky.

**Note: Vehicles are not permitted beyond Rongbuk toward Everest Base Camp since 2018, to protect the environment. Today’s journey includes long driving hours and increasing altitude, please stay hydrated and take necessary precautions against altitude sickness.

Day 9
Tashizong – Sakya – Shigatse 360km (B/L/D)
Depart from the Everest region and return to Shigatse, passing through remote Tibetan countryside. Upon arrival, visit the revered Tashilhunpo Monastery, one of the six great monasteries of the Gelugpa (Yellow Hat) sect of Tibetan Buddhism.
Tashilhunpo has been the seat of successive Panchen Lamas. Inside, you’ll find the world’s largest glided statue of the Future Buddha (Maitreya), as well as the magnificent stupas of past Panchen Lamas, all housed within grand, centuries-old architecture.
Depending on arrival time, the visit may be arranged either this afternoon or the following morning.

Day 10
Shigatse – Yangbajing – Damxung 336KM (B/L/D)
After breakfast, depart Shigatse and head north via Highway S304 toward Damxung. The journey passes through the Yangbajing region, offering spectacular views of snowcovered mountains, wide grasslands, and the vast northern Tibetan Plateau.

Day 11
Damxung – Namtso Lake – Lhasa 300km (B/L/D)
After breakfast, travel along the Qinghai-Tibet Highway to reach the majestic Namtso Lake, nestled beneath the Nyenchen Tanglha mountain range.
As the second-largest lake in Tibet and the third-largest saltwater lake in China, Namtso holds deep spiritual significance. Its name means “Heavenly Lake” in both Tibetan and Mongolian, and it is considered one of Tibet’s Three Holy Lakes, as well as the most sacred lake in the ancient Bon religion.
In the afternoon, return to Lhasa. Evening is free at leisure to unwind or explore the city at your own pace.

Day 12
Lhasa – Chengdu – Home (B)
After breakfast, our driver and guide will transfer us to Lhasa Gonggar Airport according to your flight schedule. Take a domestic flight to Chengdu, arriving in the afternoon. From there, you can head to your flight home, ending this unforgettable journey through Tibet.
**Note: We recommend booking your return flight from Chengdu after 6:00 PM to allow enough time upon arrival.

Remarks:
- Please respect local customs and tradition.
- Tibet is located at average of more than 4000m above sea level, tourist may experience altitude sickness. To prevent altitude sickness, please avoid strenuous activities, drink enough water, take adequate rest, avoid smoking and alcohol.
- Please bring proper winter clothes to keep warm, sunscreen, sunglasses, medicine essentials and etc.
- We reserve the right to alter the itinerary due to any unforeseen circumstances such as weather and road conditions, natural disaster, flight delay, government restriction, and etc.
- Please allow one extra day before and after the official tour dates in Chengdu. The tour dates may be adjusted by ne day earlier or later depending on the Qinghai-Tibet train schedule from Chengdu to Lhasa. However, there is also a possibility that no changes will be needed. The final train schedule is usually confirmed around 2 months before the tour starts.
- We do not recommend purchasing flight tickets too early. Due to potentially high airfare and the uncertainty of the final travel dates, we suggest booking your flights only after the tour schedule is confirmed.
